Modified 3 gun

Modified 3 gun is a new concept to allow shooters to compete with a level of competitiveness and budget that they choose. Shooters may use any action available ie; pistol/revolver, pump or lever action adding to the modularity of the competition.

This is a new discipline that Shooters Union Bethungra endeavours to develop and have approved by weapons licensing. We aim to have this discipline added to the list of approved shooting activities set out by weapons licensing for the purpose of using High Calibre Pistols for those whom wish to use to use them. Currently Metallic Silhouette and Single Action are the only 2 events listed.

All patrons are encouraged to participate in the development, All input is welcome.

Firearms to be use are likely to be divide into these 3 main categories.

Small bore: Rimfire Pistol and rifle with shotgun being less the 12 Gauge.

'Small bore has many benefits, mostly being low cost of competing and reduced recoil'

Standard: Centerfire Pistol and rifle with shotgun being 12 Gauge.

Big bore: High Calibre pistol (greater ther .38), Centerfire Rifle and 12 Gauge Shotgun.

The course is based on IPSC with the addition of longarms. Although SSAA has some courses in IPSC which include longarms, our take on modified 3 gun will be more dynamic and allow the use of many different firearms reducing the overall costs of competing.

There will be different categories to make competition fair and affordable. These categories will comprise of small bore, standard and big bore, with sub categories  outlining firearms used.
