Welcome to the South West Slopes

Range Project - Bethungra

The site selected for this project is approximately 860 acres situated 15 minutes from the township of Bethungra

Shooters Union NSW is dedicated to providing a family friendly shooting complex to cater for all shooters, We welcome non members and members of all clubs including interstate. Having over 860 acres of land will allow us to provide  a wide range of disciplines from Archery, Shotgun, Rifle and Pistol to use the range at the same time with minimal disruption upon each other.

The range will offer camping facilities for weekend events and shooters who want to maximise their time on the range or just enjoy the serenity of the bush... and gunshots.  BBQ 's and a undercover group kitchen area, Established fire pits in camping areas and a communal fire pit for social gatherings. Toilet and shower blocks will complement the camp area providing a comfortable stay.

Dear Mr Davis,

RE: DA2017/5

I write in support of DA2017/5 at 798 Irongbong Road, Bethungra.

I live and work in Sydney, however I regularly take my family on 4x4 and camping trips around NSW. We spend a lot of money in country towns, from accommodation & dining to camping & hunting equipment and so on.
I am looking forward to using Junee as a regular stopping point on our travels, to use this safe, legal shooting range for sighting in and target practice for my whole family.
Due to the low number of ranges in Sydney and the growing interest in the shooting sports (particularly following the Olympic medals won by Australians at Rio), the area will benefit greatly from increased tourism attracted by such a sporting facility. The next Adam Commens of Olympic shooting might be attending school right now, unaware of their talent.

I note that sport shooting is a lawful, controlled sport with an excellent safety record, enjoyed by normal Australians of all ages and abilities, from all walks of life.

Please support this DA and the establishment of the range, I look forward to supporting it and the local economy for many years to come.

Yours faithfully,
